One of my favorite albums of the year has to be M. Ward’s “Hold Time”. The album, released last February on Merge Records, has pushed me through 2009, through my artistic blocks, and kept me company during many long drives. Many people will agree with me: music, especially M. Ward’s, is the remedy for many things.
My concept behind this illustration is similar to my opinion of M. Ward’s music. It sounds old and nostalgic, something from a previous decade. It transports you back in time.
He inspires me to do more artwork, to depict a world privy to my own eyes, and share it with others.

I saw him in November at the United Palace Theater in New York City, playing part of “Monsters of Folk.”

And in March, She and Him, an indie folk band consisting of Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, release their second album, “Volume Two.”
Enjoy.

Great work Jeff, as always. That illustration is just my style and you’ve executed it quite well.
Keep up the good work!

M. Ward does that for me too. He is the first artist in my adult life that has made me feel how I did as a kid hearing really good “older” music for the first time. I love that he is part of the soundtrack to my every day life. Your artwork is beautiful.
